About us
Richie McDonald is the owner and founder of Sweetwater Homes LLC. Since founding the company he has completed beautiful homes to the satisfaction of the happy homeowners. Richie has always had a passion for building, perhaps a family trait. As a young boy, he would gather the neighbor boys to build their clubhouses and skateboard ramps. Later as a missionary in Brazil, he gathered other missionaries together to build homes for needy, homeless people.
He paid for his college education at Utah Valley University by working on construction crews as a framer. His training at the University and on the job site taught him the importance of safety, scheduling, quality, budgeting, customer service, sub-contracting, and working with vendors.
After earning his bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, he was employed by a successful home building company that built along the Wasatch Front. He quickly advanced to the position of General Construction Manager. As the General Construction Manager, he completed over 150 homes, on schedule, within the budget and with high quality. He was able to meet some very demanding schedules, completing some homes in a matter of weeks rather than the usual months. While this was a very rewarding experience, it did not meet his real desire to build high quality homes with his own company.
Richie is excited to continue building high quality homes and looks forward to helping you with your future project.
Testimonials
“… My wife and I had the wonderful opportunity to work with Richie and his team in building our home this year. Throughout our home building process, Richie provided us with regular updates on construction progress as well as anticipated timelines. He and his team took the time to ensure we were happy with our home. Additionally, Richie provided us with the necessary knowledge and tools to maintain our home for many years to come.
I am happy to say, I have a Sweet Water Home!”
